Internship for Computer Science Students

Framatome GmbH is offering a work placement to Computer Science students. The duration of the placement is relatively flexible in accordance with your university’s requirements and your personal preference – this typically results in 9+ months. The starting date will likely be in September 2025, also with flexibility. This is a paid internship, with a wage of € 2000 per month.Comp

Framatome GmbH are currently offering placements in different departments including Simulation Development and Data Analytics. During the recruitment process, our goal is to match you to the role that best matches your interests and experiences.  You may state your preferences, if any, in the application email. The placement with Framatome GmbH is based in Erlangen, a university town situated approximately 20 km north of Nuremberg.

Another advantage of undertaking an internship with Framatome GmbH is the opportunity to make connections with our Framatome UK bases, providing potential for further internships and/or graduate prospects.

Interns will be expected to perform a variety of tasks depending on your role, which may include:

• Co-development of supporting software tools
• The placement student will be involved in projects concerning high-level mark-up and scripting languages
• Development on XML authoring tool customization
• Supporting Tools for Content Validation
• Database management
• Creating module tests and documentation.
• System demonstrations and presentations
• Creating tools and scripts to facilitate the integration of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems into the simulator
• Technical Documentation

• Studying a Computer Science degree or an equivalent e.g. Data Science, Software Development
• Proficiency in a high level programming language (Python, Java, C++ etc.)
• Native or bilingual level proficiency in English
• A year abroad or industrial placement must be a compulsory part of the course of study (this should be confirmed in a course handbook or equivalent)
• Previous office experience is not compulsory but would be desirable
• Administrative requirements: valid passport, GHIC/EHIC card or equivalent, DBS check to be completed following successful application.
